CCA POLES
All our poles are pressure-treated with CCA (Copper, Chrome, and Arsenic) and are SABS approved. In this treatment, Copper and Chrome act as preservatives, while Arsenic helps protect the wood against insect damage, ensuring your poles remain strong and long-lasting.
We treat all our poles to H4 level as per SAWPA (South African Wood Preservers Association) standards. H4 treatment is suitable for poles that are in contact with the ground and exposed to occasional moisture. This makes them perfect for use in fencing, agriculture, landscaping, outdoor structures, jungle gyms and decking.
Each pole comes fitted with an anti-split plate (gangnail) at both ends, clearly marked with the official SABS stamp. The CCA treatment penetrates at least 13mm into the wood, in line with SABS requirements. Our poles are regularly inspected by SABS representatives to ensure consistent quality and compliance.
The diameter of each pole is measured at the top (the thinner end) and classified into the following basic categories:
20mm – 32mm – INTENGU LAATHS – IDEAL FOR SCREENS AVAILABLE IN 3M AND 3.6M
32mm – 50mm – TREATED DROPPERS – AVAILABLE IN LENGTHS UP TO 2.4M
50mm – 75mm
75mm – 100mm
100mm – 125mm
125mm – 150mm
